Job Responsibilities
Pennoni Associates is looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer with experience consistent, but not limited to:

  • Design, sizing, and selection of mechanical systems and equipment
  • HVAC system design experience to include the following
    • Ductwork sizing and layout for supply, return, and industrial exhaust ventilation applications, air handler unit selection, variable air volume (VAV) and variable exhaust volume (VEV) systems
    • Heating (steam, hot water) and cooling coils (chilled water, direct expansion)
    • Associated piping, chemical fume hoods and ventilated enclosures
  • General understanding and use of psycho-metrics in conjunction with cooling and heating load calculations
  • Familiar with functionality and selection of industrial type power equipment such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers and air compressors and associated piping systems


Job Requirements

Required Attributes
  • Required education: Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC Technology preferred
  • Minimum years of work experience: 4 to 12 years 
  • Computer skills required: AutoCAD and/or Microstation, Revit (preferred), Standard MS Office Applications

Preferred Attributes

  • Good communication skills and ability to convey technical information in a clear and understandable manner
  • Ability to perform field surveys and compile equipment, system, and facility data and information to be used as a basis of design for new project work
  • Excellent CAD skills and ability to prepare detailed engineering drawings
  • Understanding of applicable industry codes and standards
