Pennoni is seeking a Civil Information Model (CIM) manager to assist our Civil Engineering teams with management and coordination of our horizontal projects. The CIM Manager will provide technical support, consulting, development, and implementation of innovative design technology tools across the horizontal infrastructure space that assist Engineering teams in increased efficiency.


This position offers remote work opportunities for candidates located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.

Job Responsibilities

  • 10% Travel to office locations
  • Providing technical support to design staff
  • Demonstrating, mapping and integrating disparate AEC technologies to solve design workflow inefficiencies
  • Providing technical presentations and recommend solutions
  • Performing in-depth assessments to investigate, uncover and understand design challenges
  • Identifying and proposing options for improvement or resolution of issues and relating those solutions directly to the business goals
  • Growing and maintaining respected, long-term, trusted advisor relationships with staff
  • Developing and managing training programs and resources to allow all users to utilize CIM and related software most efficiently and effectively.
  • Providing internal continuing education sessions on software and processes.
  • Maintaining a high level of professional and technical knowledge of CIM and other digital design software through continued use as well as continuing education and training.
  • Attending conferences, seminars, and workshops for software. Networking with other industry professionals via BIM / CIM user groups or other organizations. Sharing best practices and other information acquired with software users.


Job Requirements

Required Attributes

  • Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma
  • Advanced proficiency in current version of Autodesk Civil 3D with 5 years minimum working experience. 10 years preferred.
  • Demonstrated and current direct experience with the process, workflow and use of software directly related to Civil Engineering (Civil 3D, Dynamo, Infraworks, BIM360).
  • Extensive experience in completing construction documents from a CIM environment. Able to work closely with senior staff to achieve drafting standards

Preferred Attributes

  • Degree in Architectural, Engineering or related industry preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with SCCM, basic administrative scripting (Batch, Powershell) and Active Directory Group Policies
  • Understands the workflow between various members of engineering design teams
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills, verbal and written communication skills
