Job Responsibilities

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Construction Inspection Supervisor with with the ability to perform the following: 

  • Oversee and supervise field personnel performing construction material testing and inspections (CoMET)
  • Conduct field visits as needed to observe construction progress and observe field technician performance as related to ASTM and ACI standards
  • Review field technician daily field reports, provide edits, and issue final reports to clients in a timely fashion
  • Review invoices and monitor project budgets and financial performance
  • Evaluate and respond to Request for Proposals by attending site meetings, conversing with potential clients, development of scope of services and associated cost estimates for these services
  • Supervise and oversee personnel who work in the field performing some physical work, such as the sampling and field testing of construction materials


Job Requirements

Required Attributes

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Work Experience: 8-12 years 
  • Management Experience: 1-7 years 
  • ACI Grade 1 Concrete Field Testing Technician is required
  • Knowledge of:
    • Construction materials testing methods, ASTM and ACI standards, and soil classifications
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience in: 
    • Experience with the Geotechnical and materials testing industry
    • Experience with material testing equipment (nuclear gauge, drop bar, air meter, etc.)
    • Experience in overseeing and managing personnel on materials testing projects.
  • Candidates must also have:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong computer and math skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Be able to work independently and as part of a team 
    • High character, sense of responsibility, and exhibit dependability
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Must have dependable transportation and be able to work construction site hours, which can include overtime


Preferred Attributes

  • BS degree in civil engineering or related discipline preferred but not required
  • Certifications such as ICC, AWS, NICET and NECEPT are a plus but not required
