Job Responsibilities

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Construction Inspector with experience consistent, but not limited to:

  • Working in the field as a quality assurance representative inspecting building construction work and performing construction materials testing
  • Monitoring one or more of the following for compliance with the drawings and specifications: reinforced concrete, masonry, soils and/or foundation construction
  • Performing the field testing of plastic concrete; grout, mortar, and block; and soils
  • Reading drawings and specifications, writing reports, and creating sketches
  • Communicating and coordinating with engineers, contractors, and clients
  • Checking materials and material documents to ensure they have been tested
  • Performing physical tests and analyzing sample materials on the job
  • Preparing daily inspector reports for preparation of entries into project diaries

 

 

Job Requirements

Required Attributes:

  • High School Diploma required (BS degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline can be helpful but is not required)

  • 0 to 3 years related work experience

  • 0 to 3 years management experience
  • Certifications Required:

    • ACI Grade 1 Concrete Field Testing Technician preferred but not required

    • Other related certifications, such as ICC, AWS, NICET, and NECEPT, are a plus but not required

  • Must also be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

 

Preferred Attributes:

  • Willing to work in the field performing some physical work, such as the sampling and field testing of construction materials
  • Capable of working from a ladder or scaffold
  • Must be of high character, dependable, and responsible
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have dependable transportation and be able to work construction site hours, which can include overtime
