Job Responsibilities

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our New York, NY or Newark, NJ office, with experience consistent, but not limited to:

  • Assisting staff and senior level engineers with the execution of multiple concurrent geotechnical projects
  • Working with other staff engineers and geologists as well as communication and coordination with clients, drilling subcontractors and other design professional on the project team
  • Working with other field staff and coordination with clients and contractors during construction.
  • Performing various site visits.
  • Assisting with and performing geotechnical engineering investigations, preparing reports, and developing recommendations.


Job Requirements

Required Attributes

  • Education: BS in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical.  Master's Degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 0-3 years
  • Computer Skills: Capable with MS Office suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel; Familiar with geotechnical engineering software and some basic autocad capability.

Preferred Attributes

  • Education: Master's Degree
  • Licenses: EIT preferred or able to obtain within one year
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must as well as basic geotechnical engineering experience
  • Must be capable of overseeing construction inspection operations.
  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and individually, balance workload and meet deadlines.
