Job Responsibilities

Pennoni is currently looking for a Staff Structural Engineer with experience consistent, but not limited to:

  • Design and detailing of structures in concrete, steel, and masonry for buildings, and other unique structures
  • Analysis of simple to complex structures
  • Prepare structural construction documents including drawings and specifications
  • Construction inspections and field report writing
  • Ability to work independently on structural engineering tasks including producing calculations, developing construction documents, reviewing shop drawings, and conducting site visits during construction

 

Job Requirements

Required Attributes:

  • Required education: Bachelor of Science in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural engineering emphasis.
  • Minimum years of working experience: 4-7 years.
  • Licenses required: Engineer-In-Training or EI (passed the FE exam).
  • Computer skills required: Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software platforms such as AutoCAD, RAM, STAAD, TEKLA, ENERCALC, MathCAD, etc.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong technical understanding of structural engineering principles.
  • Coursework and/or experience in structural analysis and concrete, masonry, and steel design required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office is required.
  • Willing to take on new challenges.

Preferred Attributes:

  • PE License or ability to obtain PE license preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Construction observation/inspection experience.
  • Ability to work independently within a group setting.
